Pay Attention To Principles Not Just Results..

Were I to tell you in my book that I was walking one night, it was a dark and scary night, it rained a bit and all of a sudden there was a huge lightening that struck and showed me an unseen path in the wood I was passing through and Instinctively I followed this shone path and lo and behold I found some diamonds hidden in an old leather purse and with that I built a multi-billion Naira sorry dollar business. This is my result this is what I have achieved, this does not reference any thing that you could use on your own journey through life, why, it is not repeatable.

The world worships results, and the world turns every word from a successful or ‘resultful‘ person into a principle. Principles are first of all always repeatable and also sure to get you the same result, whether you put them into actions in Long Island or snake island, whether you are a communist in Beijing or a full blooded socialist in France. So as you go on your journey listen to every advise but ask yourself is this a principle or a personal experience.

I end this blog with a story, one time I attended a seminar and this teacher said that it is important to look successful that successful people only take you seriously if you looked successful, drive a big car etc. I knew it was true to an extend but I also knew it wasn’t a principle that I could not build anything on it, and guess what I have met several billionaires in my short life here on earth and I realize unless you are in the art or PR business it doesn’t matter to them much how you appear but how you speak. They want to know if you have a large heart, if you can hear huge sums and not chicken out, not once has any billionaire seen me off to see the car I drove to come for a meeting only mid-level executives care for appearance not the very important people in life.

I hope you can on your journey distill principles from encouragement, personal opinions etc. Principle are sacred, while opinions are fleeting. This is why I generally don’t read books sometimes unless they have aged well. If they age well then they may be more principle centered than opinion centered.

I pray you have peace this week, that alone money cannot buy.
